New Clutch at 4000 miles
My beloved RS4 needs a new clutch at only 4000 miles. I am not an abusive driver and have only 2 incidents where I caught a wiff of burning clutch...the clutch went out without warning of any kind, it just got fried and left me stranded 300 miles from home. Audi factory reps have been out to see the car (it took them a week) and concluded that since a clutch is a wear item, Audi is not responsible...the friction material is completely gone
I mean, c'mon...4000 miles! I've done multiple track days on other cars, booked many miles and never fried a clutch before...
BTW a new clutch is not cheap, $1800 including labor...there is a lot of labor...
Assuming I did lots of track days and a few drop clutch starts, which I never do, a clutch shouild not fail after a mere 4000 miles...
As RS4 owenersyou should all be aware of this. Is my experience unique? UP until now, I've been loving the car....
We should not put up with this crap from Audi....
