Yeah, i read the entire wall-o-text, im pretty sure no where does it say what your problem was or if it was ever fixed

P.S. Its a good thing you havent blown this way out of proportion like Toysnob did with his...
with all due respect, it is clearly stated: "and to add insult to injury, the second problem wasn't fixed and it would have certainly been noticed if anyone was seriously paying any attention during those 40 miles."

i didn't mention that this second issue is a constant rattling/clunking noise coming from the rear, either from the exhaust or the suspension. the car came back to me with the radio station tuned to some hiphop rap station i never listen to, so instead of listening for the noise, someone was kicking it "old school" in my car. of course they couldn't fix the problem; they weren't even listening for it.

but i did't bother to list the problem specifically because as i stated, it's not the problem itself that's got me annoyed. it's the dealer's lax attitude and audi of america's blatent disregard for customer service. that's what's got me.

i certainly read toysnob's problem and i really can relate to his frustrations as well. i was probably feeling the same way during my "pissed" stage and would have probably written the same thing. but now i'm in my "disappointed" stage so perhaps i'm a bit more reserved at this point.

once the car is back from the dealer, i will first have to see if they have completely fixed the problem or if it needs to go back for a fourth time. then i will probably have to figure out what i'm going to do with the car. and if i decide to keep it, i will probably try another dealer, though my problem with audi of america will persist despite the move. per avant80's suggestion, i will try contacting audi financial services to see if they'll pick up the ball where audi of america dropped it.

I'm sure they'll fix it. And I'm pretty sure a few months from now you'll be happy you kept it. True what you said about service though, I can't stand it when I pick up the ride and nothings set the same. Especially the radio station. I bet AudiTech did that crap. He's all up in your ride bumping DMX and cracking jokes about your car problems. AudiTech knows he's wrong! lol.

Sounds like a "LemonLaw" candidate. Keep good notes and a record of "events" "talk of a "refund" will get the head office legal types involved. Good luck!

Oh man i am sooo busted, im sure the tech that worked on the car wasnt listening to the radio while trying to find a noise

But you can prolly bet your *** the guy that washed your car was when he drove it through the carwash

P.S. Dude its only 40 miles, damn, you dont rule the world cuz you bought an RS4

unless it happens to you, you'll never understand the frustrations. once it's your own money on the line, i'm sure you too would be singing a whole nother tune. i'm not asking to rule the world. what i am asking for is to be treated with respect, dignity and as a valued customer. nothing more.

auditech, do you work for a dealer or the manufacturer? because your comments, attitude and nonchalantness towards a new car owner having problems (not to mention your screen name) certainly reminds me of them....

it's not about the actual 40 miles. it's not about the individual problems. if you haven't figured that out yet, you never will. i just hope you never have to experience what i have as an owner of a brand new audi.

my attorney is looking into the california lemon law. so far they (dealer/manufacturer) are allowed a "reasonable" number of attempts to fix the problem. but we'll see what he finds specific to my situation.

I think the *magik* number is 5 times in 90 days, but I might be wrong.

AudiTech, his point, vis-a-vis the mileage, was, as he said, if he brought it back 40-over, he'd certainly be charged. And, personally, I think he's juuuuuuuuuuust inside the realm of WTF, over? with that. 10-12 miles less and He's being a crybaby. 10-12 MORE and I'd be camped on the SM's bumper looking for an answer.

just my $0.02...

let's not forget: 40 miles and problem NOT FIXED. 12 more miles and problem STILL NOT FIXED.

and let's forget about mileage for a moment; let's talk about lost time: as of today, i've owned (been paying for) the car for exactly 66 days. if i get my car back from the dealer today (maybe, and with how many miles on it this time i wonder), it will have been in service for 13 days of the total 66 days of ownership. if my math is correct, that's 20% of the total time i've owned the car, it's been in the shop. for mostly the same problem.

who WOULDN'T be pissed?

I've had the opportunity to meet Tsunami in person at one of the recent SoCal GTG's.....this person is NOT whiner or a cry-baby in any sense of the word.
If you bother to read his post you can see he is well spoken, frustrated, and dissapointed in his experience with Audi and their lack of consideration for the problems that he has had with the car and the dealership.
$73.5k is considered a damn good salary these days for most in an entire YEAR. As a matter of fact, it's probably double the national average.
For someone to make a commitment to a company for a product that costs that type of money - they damn well better make sure that their customer is happy with the purchase.

Trust me, I don't know if I would have the patience or same disposition as Tsunami if I were in that situation.

For people to flame the guy for posting his experience is immature and lame.
If he came on talking about how he walked some guy in an M3 you'd be cheering from the rafters.

Put yourself in his shoes.

Pause for a minutes before you decide to smear blithering, visceral, negative garbage across the screen and understand where the guy is coming from.
If you still can't understand - then you are not paying attention.

[&o] man.. sorry to hear about your bad luck w/ the Dealer....

But there was a good suggestion - talk to the finance company about getting a replacement.

I know u gave up on the Regional reps / & the actual dealer especially after Customer service
dismissed your claim, but .. Id continue on the route of communicating w/ the
service manager & General manager / owner of the Dealership... advise them that you are seriously considering
returning the vehicle & leasing from another dealership. They've got the most to lose if you return the car,
& can have the most "immediate" impact on how you & your car are treated.

I really hope this turns out for the better... unfortunately it sounds like you have to stop
expecting great service - & starting demanding it.. & telling them you're not getting it...

Some people in this world just dont respond well w/ kindness.. i think youve more than given them the
benefit of the doubt....

good luck, I hope they take a second look at how theyve handled the situation & try &
accomodate you better.

well, finally got my car back on friday. looks like they finally got the one nagging problem fixed. here's the total tally:

day car first went into service for this problem:
july 17

day car came back with this problem completely repaired:
september 15

total combined number of visits to completely repair this problem:
three

total combined number of days car was in service to repair this problem:
fourteen

total combined days of ownership of the car:
sixty seven

total percentage of time car has been in service while i've owned it:
20.89%

total combined mileage placed on car to service this problem:
85 miles

suffice to say, i will now be contacting Audi of America customer service with these facts and pose the question to them: what are you going to do about it? because they've rejected all my suggested actions to date. i'll be giving them one more opportunity to step up and voluntarily do something to keep a new car owner happy.

if there's any good that came from this, the service manager at the dealer did step up and walk this problem through personally every step of the way at McKenna Audi. i hope he hires some good service advisors soon because i don't expect him to do this himself every time.

if you're a fellow RS4 ownder who wants to know what the problem was, PM me because it was a strange yet major issue.
