Default Bluetooth question

Hi all,
Quick question regarding bluetooth. I have a new LG VX8300 phone . 2007 RS4 with no cell phone cradle. Upon attempting to have my phone connect to the car, it says no devices found..The phone manual shows compatability with Audi's Bluetooth interface. Is there a step that I am missing? Do I need to do something within the telephone menus of the MMI.. I did not see any such options... Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a lg8600. You need to dial 0000 before you search for the new device.
that is the phone keycode andit is not listed anyware. I obtained it from the verizon store after I had a similar problem.
It worked ok after that. As a aside, I had to replace my bluetooth with a updated unit as it continued to default to maximum volume every time i turned off the car.
Hope you donot have the same issue. If so write back and I can give you more info.

Thanks for the response and pardon my ignorance, but could you tell me in detail what you mean? Do i dial 0000 on the phone, push send and then try to find new device? Could you list in detail the steps I need to go through? thanks again

From MMI:TryTel/setup/bluetooh PIN: try 1234 if the 0000 doesn't work. Both PIN codes fromyour phone and MMI Bluetooth need to be entered as the same on each device. I just re-hooked mine up because my lastphone broke. I have a Treo 700 and there are a couple of steps on the phone you probably need to do. The MMI is the easy part, just make sure you have the right PIN and use the same for the phone. On your phone, you probably need tomake sure the bluetooth is on, then make"this device discoverable toothers",Then scan forother bluetooth devices. If your phone asks you for a PIN make sure it's the same entered in on theMMI bluetooth setup. This is all I can say, since it's the way I did it on myTreo 700. It was easy once I remembered my first bluetoothPIN I made when i first bought my RS4. Again, it's the phone that you need tonavigate afew steps toturn on bluetooth, partner it up with MMI device, thenconnect the two and usethe samePIN. The MMI is the easy part. Good luck.

Go to the bluetooth menu and the screen that says search for new device. Then enter 0000 and then search for the device(hit ok after you have entered the 0000)
When it locates the audi device it will ask for the audi code. Enter 1234 and it should link.

cool, glad it worked for you. I'm not sure if the phone book will work 100% if you don't have the cradle, but let us know if it does. I'm still trying to figure that one out too.
