When i turn it on the circle around the power button blinks read except for the controller #2 area. Ive seen it blink red before like when the power goes out or if you unplug the av plug out the back, but i disconnected and reconnected everything and it still has no response. Nothing shows up on the tv at all

You Xbox is probably boned. You might be under warranty since Microsoft extended all waranties.

Check this - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534
and this - http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/?WT.svl=nav

yea its fudged, even before this i would put in a game and it would say "To play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console" and i would have to keep turning it on and off and hitting the top of the xbox to get a game to work. Maybe thats why its hardware failed. If i make a microsoft live account will i be able to find out if mine is still under warranty? I know i got some of the earlier ones and thats why its a pos :[

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/?WT.svl=nav

on the right side of that page there is a link that says 'Ask Xbox 24/7'
I would try that or just call xbox support

I'm not sure if it would still be under warranty or not, but I know that they extended the warranties on all consoles out there to address the red ring of death. If its not under warranty though, I know there are places that can fix them online

Good luck!

sounds to me like you need to use the 360 as a stand for a superior PS3.........

this has happened to me 3 times already. the last time it happened it was 2 years after i bought it.

the warranty thing should still be good.

all you do is call them, they will send you a little cardboard coffin and 2 weeks they will send you a new one with all of your stuff on it, and say they "we couldnt fix your problem so to make it faster we sent you a new one"

if it happens to you three times, they will send out a local guy in your area to get your xbox and repair it for you.

i know it sucks, but it will be over soon.

I DO NOT SUGGSEST THIS: if you really want to push your luck, wrap your xbox in a towel and turn it on, the heat just may resolder the old connections it needs.

You've gotten the RROD (red ring of death).

Only way to save it now is to send it back to MS for warranty work. Good news is that they extended the warranty to 3 years for the RROD. Call them up and they'll send you a box.
