Fortunately for all of you there was no hockey season. You would have just been dejected and disappointed when the Avs took the cup. I am hopeful that we will see hockey next season.

Second that, on the condition that they got anyone else to play goal.
I am a huge hockey fan, but I'd rather see the NHL go under and a new league rise from the ashes, to be honest. The NHL sucks. It's diluted. Too many players are on the ice to hack someone with talent to make sure that they don't use that talent. It's incredibly frustrating watching Peter Forsberg, who is probably the best player of this generation, get WWF'd night in and night out, get so pissed off with the state of the league that he takes an entire year off, come back and have it be even worse. It's unbelieveable what the state of the game is now. The NHL has too many teams for the amount of real hockey skill that there is. And the worst part is that the people in charge think it's good this way, or are too incompetent to change it.
Side note: Who would be "too disillusioned" with the players/management/etc. after this lockout to consider going back to the rink next season? "Experts" seem to think that casual fans will lose interest (like there actually were casual fans before this mess) and never return. Are they right?
