Widescreen help
I just got component cables for my PS2 (picture is amazing now, cables were well worth the 15 bucks) but even when viewing a widescreen movie i still have letterboxes on the top and bottom. Why is this? Can i get ride of it?

Even when viewing widescreen movies... you still have letterboxes on top and bottom... are letter boxes those black bars?
If you don't have a widescreen TV... you'll have black bars on the top and bottom, if you're watching a widescreen movie... even if you do have a widescreen TV, sometimes the aspect ration isn't a perfect 16:9 and you still have black bars on top and bottom (I have a widescreen TV).
Anyways, what do cables have to do with the black bars?

RE: Widescreen help
Yeah, you can zoom it in, but you will lose picture quality. As stated above, even with content that is wide screen format, viewing on a widescreen you will still have bars below due to different aspect ratios of different films. Some films are shot in 1.78:1, some 2.35:1, and some 2.85:1, the bigger the number. HD content is the closest you will get, usually, to filling your screen.
