Default Why are used Jaguars so cheap?

It seems that used Jaguars have no resale value... I was looking around the internet for used cars, and lots of 2004 X/S-types go for under $8000... Any idea why?

They're unreliable, relatively rare and therefore expensive to maintain. The Brits aren't great with electronics.

Ever wonder why the British don't make TV's? Cause they haven't found out how to make 'em leak out yet.

Ford? Don't you mean Tata?

My family have owned jaguars all my life, some of them are the greatest cars ever, while some of them are utter crap. Most of the newer ones seem to be pretty good though.

If your lookin for jags i would avoid x-types (older ones at least). From what i've seen most of them seem very cheaply built.

My mom has an 05 s-type right now and it's great. No problems at all!

beer isn't supposed to be served freezing cold, beers been around for a LOOONG time, refrigeration and "frost brewing" havent been. The full flavor and aroma are only present above 50*F. Having said that i like my beer ice friggen cold.

I get a weird vibe from some Jaguar owners. Lots of people think of it as a "status car" thats somehow a display of how sophisticated and wealty they are. I cant even count the number of times iv heard some yuppie or his wife refer to their jag.

I **** on jags.

I remember reading that back in the days of the XJS, the chief engineer at Jaguar was known as the Prince of Darkness, due to the tendency of cars of that vintage to have total electrical failures with no warning.

And the X-Type is built off of the Contour platform if I remember right - yeah, THAT'S a car worth it's $40k price.
