This is why I do all my work myself. I dont trust most technicians or lube shops, granted there are some that are trying to run a good business. For the most part they cheat you out of your money.

My question is, what incentive do the technicians themselves have to cheat people? Do they get some sort of a kickback for that sort of thing? Since Jiffy Lubes are franchises(?) is it the owners of these franchises who are trying to cut corners, or?

yeah good point - ^^
its not like they can pocket the cash it's been invoiced & has to be accounted for. But probably
they get some kind of "bonus" or cash incentive if they hit a certain plan or goal every month or quarter...

I agree - That loser said "my name is Alex" - thats my red car..
why lie? shows u their mentality... I'd respect them more if he just came out & said Im looking into the matter
& I cant discuss anything while on camera...
he just ended up looking like more of a jackass...

ugh i hate jiffy lube. awhile ago when i was to lazy to change my own oil, i took my truck there. the fools started it with out putting the oil filter back on and it spewed oil all over the place. my rims, brakes, frame, etc were covered. they tried to play it off like i didnt see it happen. needless to say that i didnt pay for that oil change. i havent gone back since.

this is true of many places even expensive places. they give the people in such companies that do do their job a bad name. i also think thats what continental audi did to me.

well that wat u get for being an idiot and doing that. I had to bring it to them once, so what i did is i brought the oil and told them to only use it and i also brought the larger OEM filter and watched them the whole time to make sure it was done to my approval, and then it cost me 70 bucks. But i had brought the oil and filter? wtf?

And it was gay, i should have just waited until after i got back from vacation, the only thing was i was driving it to and back from palm springs, which is like 90 or 100 miles. Plus i was using it while i was down there.

yea, but i also relize that its more likely to happen at a place like jiffy lube than at an established dealer that makes tons more than jiffy lube does. Even an established mechanic prolly wouldnt do that b/c they would rather screw u on sumthing smaller, rather than having someone show up later with sludge in their engine. Although then they would get even more money.
