What was your first car?
Just thought I would see what people's first car was. Mine was a 79 VW Rabbit I bought in 1985 for $900.00 bucks with 67K miles. It had 60HP and was a 4 speed stick. Beat the **** out of that car and it ran great! Should have die in that car the way I use to drive it.

My first car. The handling was a little sluggish, due mostly to the skinny tires envogue at the time (circa 1968). BUT, it went from 0-1000-teen s per minute whenever I wanted it to. The brakes were a joke, however. Mostly I remember just coasting to a stop

RE: What was your first car?
Wow, you guys were living large compared to me. My dad bought my brother and I a late 70's Ford Pinto wagon. P1ss green with brown wanna be wood paneling down the side. He was so proud when he handed me the screwdriver. He made sure I knew not to lose that screwdriver either, cuz after it started the car, you hade to cram it into the tranny to shift the gears. Our garage caught on fire one night, and while everyone was trying to get stuff out of the garage, my brother and I pushed the car into the fire. Ah, the good ol days!
