What causes this?

RE: What causes this?
On most cars, the indicator system is designed to blink fast like that when ever the bulb burns out as a way to let you know that a bulb needs to be changed. Try it in your car, go pull a front or rear indicator, and then activate that side. It will blink fast.
90% odds that it's the wrong bulb or another burnt out one. I don't know if a short would cause that reaction, because a short would indicate to the car that there is a circuit, plus it would probably fry the fuse immediately. Tell him to go back and double check the PN and functionality of both front and rear indicators. If everything is hunky dorey, let me know, and I'll unleash my intellect.

so i just got it a new bulb and it does the smae thing. All lights are still blinking fast (on drivers side). Th eguy at autozone said a bad bulb too and got us a new one (for free). Is it possible its teh connector it plugs into that is bad? Supposdly the bad bulb will cause less resistence and therefore all the lights will receive more voltage causing them to blink faster.
He also said if it was a short the blinkers wouldnt go on because it would wreck the circuit and a relay would just cause it to stay on.
