Default what about a V-dub?

those of you who have been following my posts know that i am in the market for a car. so i went to jackson (nearest town with car lots) and went to every car lot i could find. i was hoping to find some dealer with an audi, couldn't do it. but, i did find myself a '99 VW Jetta, 2.0L 5spd. i drove it, seemed decent enough to me, dealer says it'll get great mpg. so i was wondering what YOUR opinions were about this car.. performance, appearance, overall driveability.

i like how it looks and drives.. but i don't know if it will have enough performance. i think they look really good with some 17's.
