RE: What is the...
I posted a thread similiar to this about a year, or so, ago... MY PB is/was an indicated 282Kmph in my (then) 1993 Opel Calibra Turbo (triple Black, tinted, bone-stsock), prety much any time I wanted, while I owned it, between the years of 1996 and 2000. For thos that aren't familiar, the "Turbo" Calibra was a 2.0l, 16v, DOHC, 6-speed, AWD, 205ps (approx 215hp), 189tq, gem produced by OpelAG from about 1990-1999, I think. Unless your car said "Porsche" AND "Turbo" you were subject to being pwned, BY ME, if you cruised central W. Germany between 1996 and 2000...

I remember the time I ran down a Boxter, and chased the old coot (70 y/o's SCARE me above 200kph) out of the fast lane. My Calibra was 100% de-badged, so, the ONLY way you could tell was to look inside (tinted windows, so you hadda get REAL close) and see the AWD badge on teh steeringwheel center... Most assumed my AFE-plated Opel was teh "Secretary's Edition." 1.6l, 8v, FWD, 85ps, 105tq... NOPE!!! NOT the AWDaholic!!!

I managed 165 mph, (GPS verified), in my MR2 Turbo on the M60 in Manchester back home. Took a while to get there after about 135, but it was surprisingly stable at that speed. Long sweeping bends seem quite scary at that speed though!!
