Default Well if this isnt the dumbest thing ever.

I literally am getting 50-75% better gas mileage with my tiptronic by treating it like a stick. Neutral when slowing down at a light, and at the light. Then leaving it in tip mode and literally driving it like you have a clutch. So like firstttt, foot off gas and onto invisible clutch, bump tip stick, off of invisible clutch and back onto gas.

Yes I was this bored that I actually started doing this one week. It just shows I want a freaking manual :/

lol at don. i don't use them much at all, mostly on the highway because the car doesn't like to downshift into 5th when i want to pass. plus they're mounted on the steering wheel, not the steering column so when you turn, the paddles move to a different location and you're like wtf where did they go lol. surprisingly though, the auto tranny on the B8 isn't as much of a slushbox as on the B5. upshifting is very close to a manual. downshifting is where it's slower but that's less of a problem.

i gotta say, i'm loving the sound of the turbo. this is my first turbo car and i don't think i'll ever buy anything without a turbo for myself anymore. with the exception of the B5 S4 of course

Can you still use the paddles while in S mode or D mode to change up or down the gears or do the paddles just work in tip mode?
