Yeah, they all deserve someone else's paycheck.
I can't imagine why the guy in Iraq would want to vote for Obama.
In case you missed this week's issue of the Navy Times here are the results of the Navy Times' poll of Military personnel regarding the election (in percent):
McCain Obama
Overall 68 23
Army 68 23
Navy 69 24
Air Force 67 24
Marines 75 18
Retirees 72 20
White Non-Hispanic 76 17
Hispanic 63 27
Black/African-American 12 79
Enlisted 67 24
Officers 70 22
Tthe cut/paste messes up the format, but it does show that 68% of the military will vote McCain based on this poll.

haha nice ad
Well since I've been there, going back in Dec, and don't wanna go back there a third time. Obama has my vote. But then again with McCain and Palin we won't be in Iraq. No, we'll be in Iran then Pakistan, hell even Russia might see us marching across that bridge to nowhere. The military has historically voted heavily republican, thats almost a given. Nothing dramatic about that.
I still can't believe people are going for that whole socialist crap. Well I can, hes playing on peoples stupidity and sadly most of us are stupid. McCain is saying Obama wants to take people's money and give to others. He neglects to speak on the details that clearly states Obama's plan will only be a 3.9% tax increase ONLY for people making 250g/yr Unlike his plan to give tax credits to corporate CEOs and hedgefund managers.

If anyone wants, I can post a table of the 2 tax plans side by side.
Under the first $18,981 of earned income, Obama wants to PAY the TAXPAYER 0.7%.
If paying taxes is patriotic, according to Biden, then I want to pay taxes on the first $18K I make next year. I don't want to have the rich guy's high-bracket taxes paying me 0.7% of my first $18K.

Thats not how it works. Neither plan is gonna "pay" you anything. It's about how much of your yearly income is gonna be allocated to things like healthcare, national defense, and secret earmarks. Obama wants a 3.9% tax increase for the 1% tax bracket to offset the tax credit given to lower tax brackets. McCain's plan is the polar opposite, he wants the biggest tax cuts for the 1% tax bracket so that the greedy corporate douchebags who got us in this mess won't have to worry about their bonuses, infact they'll see an increase.

Here's the Average Federal Tax Rate, from Nov 2008 Money magazine, source: Tax Policy Center.
Obama / McCain
Less than $18,981 (20% of population)
-0.7% / 4.4%
$18,982 to $37,595 (20% of pop)
3.5% / 10.2%
$37,596 to $66,354 (20% of pop)
14.7% / 16.2%
$66,355 to $111,645 (20% of pop)
18.4% / 18.7%
$111,645 to $160,972 (10% of pop)
21.1% / 20.8%
$160,973 to $226,918 (5% of pop)
23.0% / 22.1%
$226,919 to $603,402 (4% of pop)
26.6% / 24.0%
$603,403 + (1% of pop)
34.4% / 27.0%
You can see that from household earnings of $66K up, McCain's tax plan is better.
Obama is lying when he says everyone making under $250K will be better off with his tax plan.
Since it's a graduated income tax, the average taxes in the $66K-$111K bracket will be $270 less with the Obama plan.
But for $111K to $161K the average taxes will be $449 higher under the Obama plan.
And for the $161K to $227K the ave taxes will be $1,641 higher w/ the Obama plan.
The fact that he says everyone under $250K "looks safe" in his speeches is BULLSHT.
And why shouldn't everyone pay taxes on the first $19K of thier income or for people who earn less?
They use the public schools, drive on the streets, use the libraries, have the same protection from the military, fire, and police, and other public services.... why should the gov't PAY US on our first $19K????? What is this???? It's spreading the wealth.
It will cause people making $19K not to try to work harder because they'll get taxed higher on that money. It will cause people making $38K not to try to work harder and earn more, because their tax rate on those dollars goes from 3.5% to 14.7%. That seems like the big gap. Obama's tax plan really wants everyone in our country to make $38K. Everyone making more than that is just getting raped harder on their taxes anyway, right?
So my big ? to everyone that believes in EQUAL healthcare, education, etc...why not equal taxation. For example: why not 25% across the board whether you make 20K or 200K?
Agreed that both tax plans help the lower incomes, and I'm not sure I like the McCain rates much better than the Obama rates, but gov't should never pay the tax payers. That all comes out of the higher income bracket taxes. They play a mojor role in deciding the prices of goods and services in the country. If the taxes hit their wallets, they'll get their money back some other way - you loose your job they gave you to cut their costs, you pay more for the food, gas and other stuff they sell you... get the picture? It's worse for the country on the whole.
