The cost wouldn't be cheap but everything but the parts to mount the supercharger are available and I happen to have some friends that own a machine shop. I don't know where I would have it tuned or which engine management I would use. I just need to find out if I can do this for under 10k or not.
Dude, no. Please go do some research. They are not the same. The fact is that "custom eaton M90 supercharger and built/stroked 3.0" will still likely make less power than an S4 with chip and exhaust.

I went on a drive with a supercharged B6 3.0q with just a chip and exhaust and was significantly quicker. Don't forget it's not just HP, but torque that makes a car go.

You can sell your car for, what, $6-7k? You can pick up a stage 3 S4 making north of 450hp/450-ftlb for $10k more than that and you'll have all the benefits of the S4 (nicer interior, 6spd trans, S4 body bits).

I really like the 2.8 for what it is, and with a supercharger it's a decent DD... but it's no 2.7t

Well, a little update...

They can't get us into Sonoma until March 23 or 24, and I won't get the car until after that, so... it looks like another two months before I get it.

I have no room to complain, really, but I am a little bummed out about the wait.

I followed an RS4 on the northway to Albany a few weeks ago, same color. Shot some pics, but they turned out like ****. I was happy to be in a convoy of Audis with the car. Having one in the garage would be ****.

It's more about it being almost a one of a kind car. Also I have done my research and I have not said anything that isn't right. I couldn't get more then 5500 for my A4 anyways even though its a very nice car. I don't see why a custom supercharged 2.8 would not make enough torque not only would it make a tiny bit more off the line torque but it would be able to hold it a good time longer then the 2 little K03 turbo's on the 2.7. I do need to research a bit more on how big a supercharger would be necessary but I have seen a custom tuned G1 kit make 250whp and 254 torque w/ FMIC 2.6" pulley and some tuning that was running a little lean. I am just looking for 350chp and if an M62 can do 250whp then a M90 should make 350CHP easy and maybe 360 torque properly tuned w/ a good stand alone engine management system. I'd rather be the only one I know w/ a car like mine is all. Plenty of stage 2+ S4's out there just isnt for me.

http://www.vems.us/

possible tuning software. I'm told these guys work well with the higher displacement engines, and they deal mainly with european cars. bonus.
