Fun until a 16ft Great White bites you in half and then the birds pick at your intestines as they float to the surface.[&:]

I live here...South Africa....magic place. Run a private game lodge in the Northern Province. I found this forum and find it one of the best. Only hassle is the time delay when chatting on the forum
Just Morocco up North and Cape Town down South.

Got any jobs going?

U cant live ur life in fear. Only 3-5 ppl a year get biten by a shark in South Africa each year. U know how many die from getting hit in the head by a coconut?
The risk of both happening is very small, also if u stay away from the seals u should be ok.

Best surfing is in Durban or on the South Coast, or Jeffries bay. You can aslo go Shark Diving....amazing experience and very safe. Only use proffesional operators though!!

Usually commercial companies use the cage and encourage the shark feeding. Seasoned divers will take you down and will know best places, time, etc. I have dived a place called Alliwal Shoal on the Natal south coast. It is a reef and well known shark breeding ground and there are a few wrecks as well. Its an amazing experience and if one is sensible, no accidents should happen. Ironically, most diving accidents have been human error and stupidity, ie getting lost in a wreck or not watching their tank times, and I have yet to hear of a shark attack.
There is however been a few recent attackes on surfers, both in Natal and Cape, but the overall stats are low....so still safe.
