Really wanna start this as a hobby, what do you guys use?
Only thing is, I don't have a Mac so keep that in mind.
Tips, sites, etc would also be appreciated.

Final Cut Pro is a professional level software editor for about $1000 - $1100 I think.
Mac's IDVD/IMovie software is great too (if you have a Mac)

Man I don't know. Mac's are the way to go when it gets to Graphic Design/Video Editing, etc. However, I beleive that I've heard of Pinnacle (Anyone know if that sounds right?)
Being a Mac user myself, I don't stay to up on the PC World.
I use FCP personally and it is nothing short of amazing.

I have been doing this for at least 5 yrs now,
1. Avid Express DV
2. Adobe After effects (video graphics effects and what not)
3. Final cut pro.
For basic editing, Windows and Imovie arent that bad.

I have been using Nero Deluxe 7.0 I think its called. Not the best by any means, but it does allow you to also create your own menus for DVD's and burn from there. I'm no pro, but with things like final cut pro, you need a decent amount of skill and lots of time to learn it. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I just downloaded Adobe Premiere, but I'm gonna check out that Pinnacle 9 thing.
I gotta say I am pretty limited to what I can use by whats available on bittorents.
As for the difficulty level, I don't care. It took me awhile, but I got Photoshop down pretty good without anyone's help. I like figuring it out for myself. So I'll keep you guys updated.

Well, I work in I.T. field. Help desk to be exact... I guess you're right. I am prone to learning things quickly. I used "ULEAD" for first time though & made a DVD I learned it in just under 2 hours.
