Default RE: looking at tires...new question??

i usually put those ^^on for drag racing during the summer months..

but i'm going with thebishops and beefski's reccomendation on yoko's. either the avids or the yk520's. i'm excited to see if they will feel different than my michelins and more importantly, if they eliminate the current problem i'm feeling when i turn the front wheels. (a slipping, even on dry pavement.)

thanks for everyone's input. although tires aren't a big deal, to some extent they are, especially if you get the wrong ones. hopefully they will be on by early next week.

ok....i'm going with the avid w4s....so now my new question.

wheel balancing is included in the mounting, but should i also have them alligned? is this necessary or reccomended? the tire store didn't push this on me, i asked. they suggested i go to audi if i wanted it alligned.

good choice sweetee, on the avids. i would def get an alignment.make sure they replace the air stems also. make sure it is a 4 wheel type. if it is a good tire shop they will have the ability/machine to do it. if not, find a shop that can do a 4 wheel alignment but dont drive too much before you get it done.

I would only get the alignment done from the dealer, as they know the specs and everything. I wouldn't trust the tire shop guy who has done Hyundai Accent before my Audi, and doesn't know and care about the difference. As, our cars have more sensitive suspension, it has to be done precisely. However, wheel balancing is totally different, you can get it done from anywhere.

kumho asx or eagle f1. both are close to pilot sports without breaking the bank

kumhos sell like hotcakes at my job. Don't really like them. I'd only put them on my beater camry...Yea its recommended that you get an alignment whenever you change tires. We, I do vw/audis all the time at my job. It's all computerized with radar measurements on factory specs.
