Default tire debate, IYO

trying to sell an 03 a4. has 35500mi and NEEDS new tires. husband says to discount price & tell buyer to get new, I say put new on before selling. we dont have to get top of the line tires, but i wouldn't want to spend that kind of money and still have to put tires on. i also think it looks like we dont take care of the car. what do you think?

put some tyres on. Don't give a buyer any excuse to lower your price.

i would put new tires on that look pretty but don't cost much...99% of people have absolutely no idea what a good tire is vs. a sh!tty one, they just want to see the pretty lines in the tread.

my point exactly.. all they do is check the tread not the size... brand or rating

Go look on tire rack and find a decent looking cheap tire and then try to get that same tire cheaper somewhere else once you get the part number

Cheapest you can find that still qualify as tires.

maybe even go to the junkyard and buy some slightly used but newer looking ones.. they are really cheap there.. and besides the buyer wont care if you spent 20 dollars or 2000 dollars

werd. in san jose there are used tire stores that sell full sets with 75% tread for a 100 bucks mounted, if you live in or near a big metro area that is probably your best bet
