to list all the music/bands i like would be a huge list
pretty much everything but country music.

ive seen metallica like 20 yrs ago, slayer anthrax
iron maiden, rush, dio, prince

c what i mean a very varied list.

Saw Def Leppard in concert in June, they were really good! I'm into all the 80's type rock, ACDC, Van Halen, Guns and Roses, etc. And just getting into some of the newer alternative rock, listening to staind, weezer, and trapt.

may be i am old school but i would put up any rush, VH, old metallica, iron maiden against anything new
the new is not as good in my oppinion.

I'd have to go with
Pearl Jam
Chili Peppers
Foo Fighters
Incubus
Linkin Park
U2
among others...
before going old school....

I will say that Eddy Van Halen is amazing guitarist, and Neil Peart is one of the best drummers that I have ever seen.

i totally agree, guitar solos unfortunately went the way of the dinosaur in the late 80s basically bc songs were getting shittier and shittier and solos were in songs that didnt need it ie a song thats 2min long with a 45sec shredder solo
