Thoughts on this Audi
So im new to Audis and would like some advice.
I've been looking through the local Audi craigslist listings and came upon this:
Original post on Craigslist
$2500
It's a silver 1996 A4 Quattro with 145,000 miles.
It's all wheel drive 2.8 liter v6 with an automatic. The car has a new timing belt and new $700 blizzak snow tires. I drive this car everyday and it's reliable. It has some scratches, dents and some small issues. The two biggest problems are the radio has a bad power switch and won't turn on and the left flex connector on the muffler has a hole in it. The radio could be taken apart and fixed but it might just be easier to buy a stereo online for $40 and just replace it entirely. I'm going to patch the muffler in a few days which
should last a while. If you cared to replace the flex connector entirely it will cost about $140 at a mechanic.
Being new to Audi's i'm wondering if i should jump at this post.

Too bad my 30v has more of a top end thing going for it... But no, the 12v is intensely reliable and if you just keep up with maintenance will last you quite a while. Colin's lasted him a little over 200k miles.

Don't paint the car... to give it a paint job worth calling an improvement it'd cost at bare minimum 2k and more likely 3k. You'll spend as much on paint as on the car... and a shiny new paint job leaves prospective buyers wondering why it was painted, not thrilled with the shine. Turns a 2500 dollar car into a 2800 dollar car... maybe 3k but unlikely. You'll get back pennies on the dollar in resale.
