Default Thought I would intoduce my Audi.

Got this Audi back in september and I've already had the pleasure of replacing the water pump, thermostat, and the timing belt. It started to overheat one evening, lucky for my I was just pulling into my parking lot. This was my first Audi by the way, and was extremely pissed when I found out the water pump was ran by the timing belt. Anyway here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Aw, you have the color I wanted :/ lol I love that color!

I got mine back in Feb of last year after I bent a valve in my old Audi... I spent over $1800 fixing mine when I first got, but now she runs like a crazy beast!

Haha, I wanted black but what can you do? I've spent $470 so far, which isn't bad I guess. What was wrong with yours?

Yeah, I would do it before you are forced to do it like I was. For me it was either $1500 at a shop, or $300 to do it myself. It was really intimidating at first but once I started to get into it I found out it wasn't that bad. I have to say I had a harder time replacing the thermostat then I did getting to the water pump. haha.

haha, that's a little settling for me to hear that. What is your mechanical history and did you rent the special tools to make it easier?

I hate starting automotive work but always find that i really enjoy it once i'm in there.

I didn't rent any special tools, I have the 1.8t so no special tools are really required, atleast I don't think so. All I had were torx sockets, allen sockets, breaker bar, some extenders, and a philips and a flat head screw driver. As far as mechanical history...I can follow instructions pretty well. I'm a mechanically inclined person, this stuff just comes natural. And I guess making my living as an avionics technician helps out with some stuff, electrical stuff anyway.

Fire: beautiful looking B6. Nice find, and well done with the whole TB. It is a little intimidating at first, but once you're in there, it's not that bad.

Eric: blauparts.com has a complete kit with everything you need, and they also have the tool kit to rent. i would recommend it. You won't use every tool in the box, but some make the job much easier.

Brad, yeah that was what I was referring to actually. I saved that link already and when I'm ready (or my audi decides that i'm ready) I'll order it all.

Don't let your Audi decide when it's time... She's temperamental, and will destroy a lot of **** if she decides it's time to give out... 70K miles since the last TB change, and you're due. If you can't prove the last time it's done, you're OVERDUE.
