i have only told 2 people in my life about this, but i was in that situation once, and i know how you feel right now. i remember your previous posts about it and i felt the same way you did throughout the entire process. it really hits you hard when it finally goes down, i'm really sorry you had to go through something like that. i feel for you bro.

Lid... You'd do me a BIG honor if you'd cut&paste&print copies of my poem & share it with James' Mother and her family, too.
I've told NO ONE this, ever before, not even MY family, and I don't think my children know, either. Back when I was married, and stationed in Vicenza, ITALY, my (then, now EX) wife and I suffered through her miscarriage together. Happend righht at the begining of her third tri-mester. We had been having troubles in our marriage, at the time. We'd never gotten far enough along to name him/her, but she/he would have been our second child. It brought us together enough for us to have another child a year later, but, sadly, the damage to our marriage by then had become irreparable. The miscarriage to give us time to have a Son, which was/is a universal blessing/curse.
NEway. I drew upon long-dormant feelings I thought I'd buried, but, if re-living them helps those who'll miss James, I'd gladly go through it again, and again... I wish you all PEACE!

im very sorry for your loss.......my twin boys were in the NICU for three months when they were born (now 5 months old), and there was a family w/ a situtation very similar to ours in the pod next to us. we made it out - they didn't.
no one could imagine the emotional roller-coaster that you endure going through something like that. my sincerest condolences go out to you and your family. i will personally keep you in prayer for strength and understanding.

What could have been
James came and went today.
A sadly-joyous occasion in celebration of life, and in acknowledgement of the brief time we all share with those we love and care for.
James came and went and ALL I can think of is what could have been…
He could have been a Rock star.
A rare, “clean” one who would have changed the world with his talent and zest for life.
He could have been a Scientist.
Discovering the undiscovered, proving the un-provable, solving the unsolvable.
He could have been Baseball player.
Breaking records and winning fans the World over, ALL before his 25th birthday.
He could have been a Chef.
Culinary creations that melt in you mouth and delight the palette could have been his legacy.
He could have been a Mechanic.
Fixing the hardest of dilemmas effortlessly, all while charging decent prices for his time.
He could have been a Soldier.
One who, by his actions brings about everlasting peace throughout ALL lands, for ALL times to come.
He could have been a King.
Conquering an unknown land and ruling compassionately and benevolently.
He could have been anything he wanted.
I would have seen to it.
With every breath and step I took, I would have seen to it.

Anyway, thank you to all for your very kind words & thoughts. They are greatly appreciated.Jazz, I can't thank you enough for your poem. It will be shared with everyone who has/had anything to do with baby James. He is to be cremated on Wednesday at 4.00pm and among some personal things will be that poem.

Wow I read this being away I knew nothing of it. I'm so sorry for your loss. My condolences go out to you, your family, nad James.
