For those of you who know whats going on.. It's finally over
Baby James Beckford Li Donni was born at 1.05pm (4 hours ago) on Saturday the 13th of August 2005 and passed away after a few breaths at 1.06 pm. He was the size of my hand and weighed about the same as a can of coke. He was a fighter (just like his father is) :-) and will remain in my heart forever.
Unfortunately baby James had a heart condition that would probably have prevented him from living any sort of healthy life without multiple operations which probably would've killed him anyway.
Thankyou to all for your kind words earlier this week.
.............. I'm going to go get drunk.

I feel your pain. Its wierd when that stuff happens to you because you think, what are the odds? My wife and I decided to terminate our first attempt due to a condition called annoncephaly (not sure if thats spelled right). It is where the brain doesnt form a protective coating and the amniotic fluid damages the brain. It was a heartbreaking end to our hopeful new child. If we had chosen to have the child, he would have died within hours. Terminating a pregnancy is an extremely difficult decision to make. Church folks may not agree with it but, I know it was the right thing to do. In any case, I extend sincere condolences. Im afraid only time will help heal your wound, and the clock moves quite slow. Drink one for me bud.

Some of you know, I do this on occasion... This seems appropriate. Lidonit, this is for James...
To King James, and those who will always love him...
What could have been
James came and went today.
A sadly-joyous occasion in celebration of life, and in acknowledgement of the brief time we all share with those we love and care for.
James came and went and ALL I can think of is what could have been…
He could have been a Rock star.
A rare, “clean” one who would have changed the world with his talent and zest for life.
He could have been a Scientist.
Discovering the undiscovered, proving the un-provable, solving the unsolvable.
He could have been Baseball player.
Breaking records and winning fans the World over, ALL before his 25th birthday.
He could have been a Chef.
Culinary creations that melt in you mouth and delight the palette could have been his legacy.
He could have been a Mechanic.
Fixing the hardest of dilemmas effortlessly, all while charging decent prices for his time.
He could have been a Soldier.
One who, by his actions brings about everlasting peace throughout ALL lands, for ALL times to come.
He could have been a King.
Conquering an unknown land and ruling compassionately and benevolently.
He could have been anything he wanted.
I would have seen to it.
With every breath and step I took, I would have seen to it.
James came and went today.
With every tear I shed ALL I can think of is what could have been…
