Default Things to do BEFORE you're 40

OK, another attempt at thread epic-dom. I'm over 40, so I picked that as my target. If you're over 40 (all 5 of us), and want to share some of your "hafta-do's," post up your thoughts.

RULE #1 - You can ONLY post up things YOU have done. Not schitt you heard about. Not schitt you saw on TV or RedTube. Stuff YOU have DONE!
Rule #1a - You are allowed to call BS on anything anyone posts as "diddit," and they HAFTA defend their claim.
Rule #2 - ANYone attempting to DO one of these hasta let us know prior to the attempt, and the results.
Rule #3 - No one cares about rule #2.

Here's my first installment:

Break 100mph
Break 150mph
Break 175mph

Qualify with a handgun
Qualify with a rifle
Qualify with a machinegun (good luck on THAT w/o being in the military)

visit Italy
visit Germany
visit Switzerland
visit Austria
visit France
visit Greece
visit Turkey
visit any of the former eastern-bloc countries (I did Lithuania & Bulgaria)

Drive a bus

drive backwards through a fastfood drive thru and have your passenger order

swim in the Atlantic
swim in the Pacific
swim in the Mediterranean

These are some of the noteworthy things I did before I was 40. I'll post more, if the thread takes off.

Anyone want to start a "...before 30," or a "...before 20" thread?

Well, I've done a lotta ****, a lotta different place. All around America, and, the world, too. But, only a few (some of the places I been) involve things outside of America.

How about:

Drive across country (America, in my case... Well, OK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France, too! But that isn't my point, damnit!)
110mph down the Grapevine (you Cali boys know where I'm talkin bout)
Cruise PCH on a Sunday morning, just as the sun comes over the mountain-tops
Outrun an approaching hurricane, up I-95, from FL

This actually about sharing FUN, or, interesting stuff you've done, that you think others might git a kick outta. notice I didn't list getting arrested/felony-stops in my Audi/getting robbed & beaten & left to die in a pool of my own blood/divorced/slamming your bare-foot in a car door...

hope you dont mind if I mentally refer to you as yessssss4buzzkill, for a week, or so.

LOL, buzzkill works. I think I'd rather hear about the "getting arrested/felony-stops in my Audi/getting robbed & beaten & left to die in a pool of my own blood/divorced/slamming your bare-foot in a car door" though. So the name fits.

Just for Senor BuzzKill... Things NOT to do, EVER, if it can at all be avoided:

Get arrested for shoplifting @ 18 y/o (went to the sto for milk & bread, saw a Hot Rod, or maybe it was a Car Craft magazine that I wanted, but cudn't afford mags & food. tried to, anyway. got caught. learned that I have a sixth-sense for when I am being watched, which I dint know about until I ignored it)

When I bought my Audi I got it from Luxury Motors in Chi. IL has a different process for temporary tags than here in the Metro DC area... A tiny l'il piece of paper taped to the rear window apparently suffices, in IL. Not so much in DC. An apparently "Black Man" (true enuff, in you adhere to conventional/traditional understandings of such things, which I never have) driving a umpty-some-odd-thousand-dollar car, with NO TAGS?!??!? Yeah. FELONY STOPS! 3 of them, before MD issued me my actual tags. Lesson learned? NEVER buy a car from out of town, over the Christmas Holidays. Christians are suspiciously lackadaisical about doing their jobs during these times.

My "I got my a$$ beat" thread may still be around (with pics, no less), maybe not, but, briefly... 3 guys (teen-agers, actually) jumped me in my apratment stairwell, back in aught-5, I believe it was. They got my dummy wallet (note to self: get another dummy wallet), and my cell phone. Pr. Geo. County police SUCK!!! 1st cop on-scene told me they would have actually had a chance of solving the crime if I had bled out, instead of crawling into my house and dialing 911.

Divorced... A bargain at TWICE the price! 'Nuff said.

When I was around 6-ish, leavin Grandmas' house one Christmas night (fat with TOYS!!!!!), my bone-headed uncle went to close the car-door before I was completely IN! This, back when car doors weighed about as much as a Prius does today. Minor diversion to the local emergency room for x-rays, and to sew the skin back onto my toes.

I will leave it up to someone else to start a "Bad schitt that has happened to me" thread. BK? You up for that?
