There ought to be a law that mandates that snow/ice must be cleared from your ENTIRE vehicle, not just the windows and headlights. Nothing like dodging 2 inch thick sheets of ice flying off the top of some soccer mom's H2.

mmh i bounced the idea off my dead and he thought it was good and he was sold on it but said maybe just have one class...so like speed rated or advaced need the license and the car to do it and only in places rated for advanced or speed rated driving like highways and certain roads in which the speed signs would have a special blue ring or something around them letting driver know that its an advance speed or speed rated zone.....towns would still be 30 or whatever but roads and highways would be speed rated to X above posted limit...i think we could actually get that done....i may have to write this up and get an online petition going.....think about it its definetly revune for the state so government would like it, us advanced or speed rate drivers would like it, and normal drivers wouldnt have anything change except know cops will enfore the left lane for passing more and have a minimum speed limit like pennslyvania

This idea sounds great, rewarding people who know how to drive with the ability to go as fast as they want. It does not, however, address the fact that there are far more stupid drivers than good ones. Imagine yourself cruising down the highway at 85-90 and Momma Soccerball pulls into your lane without looking, signalling, or speeding up. Either you plow into her, or you slam on the brakes and the other "expert" driver behind you hits you, or some other chain of events occurs. Now there has been a high speed collision, which will likely close the freeway, due to a preponderance of soccer ***** and body parts.

Solution: A speed-only lane (or lanes - there will always be someone wanting to go faster than everyone else), like the HOV lanes on some freeways. Good for the expert drivers, good for emergency vehicles. And Momma Soccerball can't go there! Maybe put a radio chip in cars that will disable them if they go in the wrong lane, or at least sound an alarm with the local constabulatory so they can ticket her.

And lets put some Soft walls in the speed lanes, so when someone gets a little too cocky, at least he won't die when he crashes.

there out to be a law in place that allows drivers to go for licensing beyond the regular licensing exam at that drivers own expense(sorry poor people bt theres good reason behind this anyway) this extra licensing would allow driver to reach a certain class much like gran turismo, just not to the same extent...there would be a base speed limit for normal drivers just like now and every class above would be allowed to drive X amount over to their speed limit........however, the car being driven would have its own class so no "A" class drivers in geo metros going 90mph(see my point about own expense) now cars would come from factory with a limit, which would be the top end for that car, if the driver exceds the limit of the car he still mustgo the limit of the car...if the car is moddified it can be tested and achieve a higher limit once again at the drivers expense

seeeeeeeeeeeeeee, awesome law
Just because some kid can do good on a driving couse doesn't mean he wont be an idiot with his friends and a 90 mph speed limit for anywhere but the most open roads is asking for trouble. The fact of the matter is there really isn't suppose to be such thing as an "advanced driver" since all drivers are expected to drive the same way. Even in Germany the Autoban has its own set of regulations and rules and is much more tecnically designed and maintained than American roadways (safer but too expensive).

I think America should adaptEuropean traffictraffic light sequencing - goes like this

American lights go
Green/go ->Yellow/yield for red -> Red - stop --- repeat

German lights go...
Green/go ->Yellow/yield for red -> Red - stop -> Red and Yellow - get ready for Green --- repeat

Saves on brakes....

That well established AF members CHECK for similiar, existing POSTS, before starting *NEW* ones that basically say the exact same thing, only differently...
