It's pretty complicated, but I'm getting the hang of it. Have you ever used Final Cut? I've hard about that, but my video editing experience is non-existant... [:@]

Long ago in a galaxy far far away - I took a video editing class - & used the older Adobe premier & Avid...
The class had decent non-linear editing stuff - but nowadays w/ stuff like Adobe Premier etc.
is defenitely more cost efficient & affordable.
back then we focused on linear editing w/ the crazy editing board console w/ shuttle & cue controls &
preview & live monitor.. exactly like a TV studio setup.
But now you can get great results w/ digital & PC stuff...
