Default Taking girlfriend to Disney Land for her birthday...

Why did I post this, you ask? Well, I am stuck between flying there or driving there. Flying would be cool because
I can relax and rent a car (and thrash on it! ) but driving would be a shitload cheaper and I could drive on the
closest thing to the autobahn (I-5). Im torn between them because in one hand; I can stay in an ok hotel, have
a Dodge Magnum to beat up, and be 30 minutes away from Disney Land (which would roughly be around $515 for the
flight, car, and hotel... not including tickets). With driving there, I only have to worry about gas, hotel, and tickets.

I found a tight hotel, right by Disney Land, for a damn good price. $129 for a suite, probably $140 for the 2 tickets
and maybe $40 for gas.

I cant make up my mind... I need second opinions!! [8D]

Have at it!!

Can anyone recommend hotwire.com? I am a little edgy about booking a room in an unknown hotel. The prices are crazy cheap!! Right now, Im looking at Ayres Hotel & Suites. That place looks pretty sweet.

Drive.

Road trips are always a good time to bond too. If you drive you can also put the extra money towards little extras: I.E: gifts, little surprises and add a little bit more spice to the trip. Consider doing some things along the way, stop at hearst castle, find some cool beaches along the way to visit, etc...

The 4-5 hour drive isn't that bad, considering you will spend at least 1-1.5 hours at the airport, another 1 or so for the flight, and then another hour for bags, rental car, etc... So that's 3-3.5 right there. you really only save 2 hours, is that worth the flight?

For sure. That what I was hoping... kinda road trip style. The nice thing too is I can save money for little gifts. I was planning on taking her to Medieval Times too. That should be damn fun!!

Woooo... cant wait. Dunno if I should rent a car.

If I drive my Audi, I will be putting miles on her that week and the next week (I will be driving to Tahoe for a wedding). All in all, it will be more than 1,000 miles. O_o
