Default Survey on tires (if you have time...)

A friend of mine is studying market trends for purchasing tires and has a survey he asked me to shoot around some forums, mostly the enthusiast people like ourselves . It's super easy, just needs some good opinions from you about purchasing tires and your knowledge of them. The questions are open ended so there's not a wrong answer or anything.

Thanks guys.

Name: age: sex:

Vehicle type: Dream Vehicle:

When was the last time you purchased tires for a vehicle?

What was the persuading factor that helped you make your purchase?

How often do you think about the tires on your vehicle?

Have you ever been in an accident due to the tires?

On a scale from 1-5 how knowledgeable are you when it come to tires?

Where did you obtain your tire knowledge?

List as many tire company brand names off the top of your head.

Do you have a favorite tire brand?

What type (performance, snow, all season, etc.) and brand tires do you have on your car?

How much did they cost?

How did you decide on what tire brand to buy?

Where did you buy the tires? Ex: WalMart, Firestone

Do you prefer shopping at large national (Sears, Wal-Mart) or specialty (Bubba's Tires) stores for your tires? Why?

Tell me about your most recent tire buying experience.

Do tire industry awards and recognition matter in your purchase decision?

Do you trust tire sales people (or do they seem like they're just full of it)?

Would you ever purchase tires online and then take them to your own mechanic for

install?

What would change about the tire shopping experience to make it more pleasant?

What color would you like your tire to be?

When was the last time you purchased tires for a vehicle? 1+ years

What was the persuading factor that helped you make your purchase? Old tires were corded, looked for decent performance tires for a decent price to replace.

How often do you think about the tires on your vehicle? Weekly

Have you ever been in an accident due to the tires? Yes. Snow tires are not high performance tires.

On a scale from 1-5 how knowledgeable are you when it come to tires? 4

Where did you obtain your tire knowledge? the interwebz (http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html)

List as many tire company brand names off the top of your head. BFG, Cooper, Falken, Goodyear, Pireilli, Hoosier, Continental

Do you have a favorite tire brand? Falken

What type (performance, snow, all season, etc.) and brand tires do you have on your car? UHP Summers in summer(Falken), all-season in spring/fall(Continental), M+S in winter (Green Diamond).

How much did they cost? UHP = $100/tire All-season = $90/tire Snow = $130/tire

Do you prefer shopping at large national (Sears, Wal-Mart) or specialty (Bubba's Tires) stores for your tires? Why? I go where the deal is.

Tell me about your most recent tire buying experience. Falken 512's were worn, went on the now closed edgeracing.com site and ordered the 512 replacement - 912, had them drop shipped to the local tire shop, new shoes installed, the end.

Do tire industry awards and recognition matter in your purchase decision? About as much as those ribon awards you got in middleschool for running fast across the football field.

Do you trust tire sales people (or do they seem like they're just full of it)? Depends on the salesman. Some are smart, some try to sell you whatever is popular/selling/what they have in back.

Would you ever purchase tires online and then take them to your own mechanic for

install? Thats what I do 99% of the time.

What would change about the tire shopping experience to make it more pleasant? Nothing? How can it get any easier without someone spoon feeding you?

What color would you like your tire to be? Black?
