stupid wipers!
Damn B5 wiper issues... spent like 2 hours last night ripping my car apart to fix those damn wipers. the linkage was siezed like a ****! got it all back together, the wipers arent exactly parallel anymore... but whatever, i was too pissed to make it perfect. plus, this fix seemed like something i'd be doing again soon enough anyways...
Just venting.
Oh, and I'd like to thank Rain X... for allowing me to drive my car for like 2 weeks with no wipers. It's been raining lately too. rain x owns.

RE: stupid wipers!
Umm, if you look at the wiper linkage, there are 2 pivots, one for each wiper... they are like a hollow cylinder, with a spindle going through them. One of them had seized completely. Upon getting the linkage out of the car, I couldnt even move it with my hand... ended up putting it in a vice, soaking it in penetrating oil, and finally getting the damn spindle out. then I used fine grit sand paper to clean everything up, filed the inside of the 'cylinder' lightly, cleaned everything up. Then I crammed as much of this teflon grease as I could into it, and reassembled (I did both sides, even the side that wasnt seized). the whole thing was a pretty large pain in the ***... but whatever. I could prolly do it in an hour next time around. (im sure there will be a next time)

A tip though, as soon as you notice they are slowing down... fix them. I was lazy, and I rarely use my wipers anyways... then when I was in downtown toronto, and needed wipers (was driving too slow for rain x to work), they were seized right up. ALSO, it makes it easier to get the assembly out, if they arent seized. One more reason to do it early, is to avoid any wear on your wiper motor.
So yeah, as soon as they start to slow down, get fixin it!
