Default Strobe Lights

So I posted this in the Ask a police thread and nobody has responded yet so I figured I'd start a new thread...

So I'm in the process of putting red and blue strobe lights in my car for *Show* only... I'm not planning on using them on public roads or anything of the sort. My question is if i have them on in a parking lot, my driveway, or anything like that are they illegal... I imagine they would be along the same lines as underbody kits on cars seeing as how those are illegal on the road but perfectly fine for parking lot use... the only difference is with mine if i turn them on while driving i get slapped with impersonating an officer. What about a siren as well? can i use one on private property?

I would think the colors have a lot to do whether it's legal or not.

if ur parked i dont think a cop can hassle you to much as on most boxes it says off road use only but driving you will get popped and probabaly pretty quick.. I think in texas underbody kits are legal even as you drive as long as you cant see the bulb's from a certain distance under the car.

thats kind of what i was thinking. I just didn't want to have them on and get nailed with some fine or something so i thought maybe someone had firsthand experience or something.

If your in a parking lot and just want to show off, I'd think you'd have to do some explaining. If at a show, sure, go for it. In your driveway just about anything goes as long its not a 'public disturbance or nuisance'.

lol that would freak out those ricers in the parking lot. you just inspired me to get a red strobe light to put on the dash and then drive by the movie theater haha.
