Default Stopping the Odometer ?

Hey. I have an '07 A4 2.0T. I wanted to know if anyone knows how, or if it's even possible to stop the odometer from calculating any more miles? I dont want to roll it back, just stop it. I'm almost over my miles for my lease, Im not trying to resell it or anything. Any help would be appreciated ;D

Just put it on jacks and stick a cement block on the accellerator before you turn it in. If its good enough for Ferris it should be good enough for you.

No seriously... I don't have a clue, but I'm pretty sure tampering with the OD in any way is considered illegal, but law probably varies from state to state.

Thats illegal in all states. Kinda sucks for the next owner as well. I dont recall for sure wheter mileage is calculated from the wheel speed sensor or the trans output speed sender, but if all those sensors had some sort of bad connection, the vehicle would not record any mileage. Youd have no abs and your trans might not work right thou.

well, I rented a ford focus and removed the fuse for the dash (electronic odometer) then i drove it to florida and back (sucked because i didn't have a speedo, and we did gas stops every 200 miles or so)...but, we got it back to LA the mileage hadn't changed!....

It wasn't that bad, I just kinda went with the flow of traffic all day and we spent a night in new mexico/texas border and another in baton rouge...we stayed on the 10 til Jacksonville, then we went down to Ft. lauderdale for a few days of mad yachting excitement (friends uncles 64' nordhaven)

I don't know it this works on audis, but you can try and unplug the dash fuse and see what happens???

gl!
