1. What do you normally carry in your backpack?
Books, Laptop, Camera and gear, Clothing, School Supplies, camping gear, Tents, Sleeping bags, Knives, etc depending on the situation
2. What is your primary use?
School/travel
3. What is your biggest concern when buying a backpack?
Size and durability
4. Would you pick a backpack based on how it looks?
Yes, what it looks like is a large factor along with above
5. Have you ever dropped your backpack and had something break.
Not yet
6. What don’t you like about the design of backpacks?
Hard-shells
7. What would you change about backpacks?
Not much but I would eliminate the hip belts on school packs, they are completey useless and not needed, they have no padding and can't really comfortably support any real weight
8. How often do you carry a backpack?
5-6 days a week
9. How much weight do you usually carry.
around 15-60 lbs depending on application
10. How long do you carry a backpack
anywhere from 1-8 hours a day (depending on application)
11. Do you find your backpack uncomfortable?
No, if it was uncomfortable I would wear it
12. What would make it more comfortable?
Depends on which pack of mine you are talking about. For one thing I wish my hydration pack would not leak when you have the quick disconnect sitting in a certain orientation.
Thankyou

Hope this helps

and some ideas, you might want to specify the kind of pack you are creating. I am assuming that it is a day pack with only a few 100 ci. of space, but me for an example I have three packs right now ranging from Under 50ci (for a hydration/skiing pack) up to 3000 Ci for a weekender backpack. I am also about to get a Photo gear pack which needs to have ski attachments so that is something you should consider to, What market are you going to try and sell this pack to, beucase that will decide what features you include.
