I hit that crossroad a few years ago. Sold my 515hp 300ZX, bought the A4, and basically just chilled. I had my fun with the Z but keeping it wouldve meant that I'd have kept modding it and at that point not only were further mods going to cost an incredible amount, but I also had two little ones, and my need to own (as well as my desire to maintain) a road-going ballistic missile went south. I got my 30v despite being a boost junkie because a) the price was definitely right, far better than that of the 540i 6-speeds I was shopping; b) I knew I wouldn't fall into the same spiral of modding that I did with the Z, and c) it's still a damn nice car that I could do some customizing with, without breaking the bank. I wanted just to have a nice ride that I could personalize. I'll still get another power toy at some point but I'm waiting until I can afford the real big-boy cars.

If you opt out of the TT you probably won't have as hard a time coping as you think, coming from one who has been there and done that. Get a classy nice DD that you can drop on some nice wheels and do some minor styling work on and enjoy it for a few years. Then look into another powerhouse if you still need your fix.

Yeah. Plus, remember... Audi's new car smell seems to last fairly long.

Word.

My first TT was 5 years old before I bought it, you could STILL smell the new car smell in it.
