Lake Tahoe vs. Aspen.....mmmmmm ASPEN!!!!! If your a big skier Aspen/snowmass is the place to be. Lake tahoe is cool because you can ski in 2 states in the same day and the lake is really cool. But you cant beat Aspen for one reason, its rated the best ski resort in the world.Enough said.

I lived in Reno, NV, about 45 minutes away from Tahoe, for four years.
I'm going to try being brief.
Frisco is about 3 hours drive away from Tahoe, Redwood forest about 2.5 hrs, Napa Valley wine country about 2.5 hrs, Virginia City about 1.5 hrs, Gold Rush country about 45 minutes, Yosemite National Park 2 hrs, night life in Reno is as good as it gets (can you say GIRLS ?)
Most importantly, the people in this part of the US are very friendly. Much mor so then in the east.
I don't mean to dis. you folks in the east but I have lived in many states (now in NW Indiana) and you can,t pick a better destination than Tahoe. Frisco is not what it used to be but you can blow out of town in almost any direction and it just gets better.
