Default skiers/snowboarders may enjoy this...

So i went back to my hometown this weekend, got sick, but have a good story. idk if you guys are familiar with whiteface mountain in the adirondacks, but its a huge mountain, 78 trails, and what not. anywho, my cousin is a groomer and took me out one night and WOW! so much fun. you get these huge machines at 70-75 degree angles, pushin snow, grooming trails, so much fun.

i got some pics and a vid, they arent good quality but give you the jist.

^^ only 4 machines go out at night, from 830pm to 830am... thats a pic of all of us going up one trail.

heres what we were driving around in. the crane looking thing on the back is a winch that spins 360 degrees, and on the really really steep hills you hook up the winch to the top of the trail and go flyin down, then the winch helps pulll you back up

enjoy

thats so awsome. Id be lighting up in the groomer first thing

I started snow plowing this year, I use a big john deere cab tractor with an 8 foot plow. I love doing night time plows in snow storms when no one is on the road. So relaxing... Probably similar in some ways to the groomer but god damn i dont get to go up a 75* incline, and those groomers look sick

I talked to the head groomer out at Telluride (I was on a lift with him) and he had some great stories of having those bullycats get stuck and slide down the hill so they would have to use two or more to winch them back up.

I would not mind doing that job at all.

my cousin makes a little over 200 a night, 6 nights a week... not bad. listening to music, he smokes and what not...

wont lie though, kinda scary when your on soft snow because it will all start to move below you and when all the snow is moving below you you have no control
