Should I pull the trigger and order these in the next week or so?

17s actually look perfect in the sense that they are the size the car should have had from the OEM. I like the slight oversize look of my 18s but they don't look like old west wagon wheels in any case, like some of the bigger wheels do.
To the OP, honestly unless you're going to keep those wheels on for over a year, I would hold off and just put the money you'd spend on them (and tires) toward the purchase of your 18" set. Kind of pointless to buy wheels for $240ish plus shipping, then buy tires, then have them installed, and then take 'em off less than a year later to get different wheels again.
That being said, I did exactly that last year lol. I bought set of AT Italia S5 wheels in 17x8 with 235-45-17 tires, virtually brand new, in January or February last year, and it was a good investment being that winter was in full effect and my OEM 16" tires were virtually bald. The $400 I spent on that setup got me new tires that were M+S rated so it helped a lot for winter (not to mention they actually had tread on them). Then a member here put up the Flik 18s for sale (the ones that are currently on my car) with tires in May, and I jumped on those at $450 with tires, and sold the 17s to a buddy here in town for his 96 A4. Sometimes it works out - you might even make mention to any local Audi guys on stock wheels that if you get these in 17" you won't be on them for a really long time before the next upgrade, and see if anyone wants to line up to buy them off you when the time comes.

Ok so I want 18's I was looking at 17's and I got 19's.... haha. Payed 200 and gave him a JL amplifier for them. He also gave me a 2 channel Audipipe amp in the deal cuz he didn't want it.
Here are some pictures. Im not so sure how much I like them compared to 18's but they came w/ centering rings and Audi center caps. Gonna look way better w/ the drop.

They stick out a tiny bit past the fender so unless I want it to rub Ill have to get some 215/35/19 tires and they will be really stretched and thats so not my style. Im gonna return them tomorrow put my amp on ebay and order those 17's.

I like the spoke pattern, but if you keep them make sure to be careful when you lower your car. I'd be scared to buy anything but coilovers with wheels that big in fear that a non-adjustable shock and spring combo would be too low.
And for what it's worth, here's a couple pictures of my summer set-up:
