sorry for the confusion, i was responding to dankhound, he's from the chicago area too...

 

i work in the automotive field (not for audi) but my manager used to work for audi, and when he started 3 months ago he drove up in a north american spec 07 rs4 prototype...let me take it for a spin, omg the thing is freakin awesome, couldnt belive how fast it was and how tight it held corners and how solid it felt, he unfortunatly had to give it back the next day so i wasnt able to get pics

how much horsepower would it have to make to impress you? consider the fact that when daimlerchrysler decides how much power they want the engine to make, they must take into consideration the driveability of the car, not to mention the emissions it produces. the viper V10 is a pushrod, 2 valve per cylinder engine. our audis are all DOHC (with the exception of the 12V 2.8's that is), 4 or 5 valve per cylinder engines. the viper has no variable valve timing, and no forced induction.

if you'd ever been in a viper, I don't think you'd say they don't impress you.

 

They make over 500 hp and 500 torque and still pass emissions. That impresses me, don't forget they can easily be tuned for well over 650 whp. It's not that they can't make power but for insurance purposes and emissions they detuned the car.
