Apple (once again) used severely favoring benchmarks and reality is that Safari is not in fact faster than IE.

what they did (cunningly and in the face of the uninformed, consumer and mac-sheep) is they benchmarked how quick the browser the page is set as "complete", instead of when it is actually loaded and displayed.

IE is a POS, dont get me wrong, but I cannot get over Apples marketing techniques. They rub me the worng way.
for instance if someone enjoys iTuines on the PC, it automatically installs Apple Update, which is good (but useless) fo rupdatuing itunes.
however recent "updates" have come up to include Safari3 with th eaccept box already checked...almost as bad as pre-loaded content.
plus Safari has horrible type-display on PC because of doubled anti-aliasing.

I use a mac at work explicitly and its great, (messes up more than my custom winXP, knock on wood) but im always surfing with firefox on the mac.

use firefox !
