You know, back in the day, they use to use amps as a way of measuring current. Thats the kind of amp I was reffering to. I kinda didn't expect anyone to catch that. (wasn't worded right.

I might just go to a pawn shop for the amp er something.. I need to learn up on this **** cuz im trying to get it in this weekend. Im a noob when it comes to car stereo's.

Man, they should look into those spontaniou(sp?) flying and shatering cell phones, I've had a few do that to me also.

 

Sounds good... Im still not sure if that matches up well with the sub i got...

 

my old rf 10" was a dual 4ohm voice coil sub...you can wire those to either 2ohms or 8ohms...if you wire it at 8 ohms you can run a huge amp and it'll sound clean, but for a smaller budget you wire it to 2ohms. find an amp that is 300w RMS (some amps list RMS power, some list peak..peak is usually about 3 times more than rms)...anyway, a 300W single channel amp that is 2ohm stable is what you want...a rockford fosgate 301M would be perfect for that and you can probably find those online new for 120 shipped. i bought mine several months ago and it was 120.

 

So what would happen if i got a 400rms watt amp??

yea, it's because it's a dual voice coil...you will use both sets...
