there is a cafe on pacific avenue in downtown santa cruz, that makes really really good chai, they are called lulu carpenters, i highly suggest them if anyone is in northern cali and are in santa cruz
royal taj, an indian restaurant there makes great chai too

south carolina, i dn't think they even know what chai is

Is it the Santa Cruz Cafe that is right off 17? I used to frequent that place quite a bit when I my chum went to school there.

17 is a damn fun drive given there are no cops around.

I have to say... damn good job with this thread. People are posting quite a bit... its like an IM session.

Speaking of that...

Noodles man!! I have been crazy for Ramen lately. If your ever in San Mateo... the best ramen house outside of Japan is Santa Ramen. All the guys I work with say it is the best... and theyre from Japan. I would agree... I have been going to other ones and they all suck ****.

nope, it's in downtown santa cruz.... but i LOVE driving on 17, esp late at night when there aren't a lot of cars, cuz people drive like idiots on that road, i've seen more accidents, spinouts, etc on that road than in my whole life put together
