Default Radio Code

I was wondering if anyone had access to Audi TT radio codes? I just bought an 02 and it did not come with a manuel. I had to replace ECTS and reset the computer so therefore need a code for the radio.

Might be different on a TT, but the code for my A4 was on a sticker in the spare tire's wheel well.

Every radio is different. If you can't find it, you may need to shell out some cash at a stealership and then write it down someplace save...

some dude told me to pull my radio out and the last 4 digits on the back of it was the code. but i'd be an idiot to do that since i can't do anything with mechanics of any sort, i think dealerships will charge somewhere between 40-110 for it. the ones around my place were like 70

I highly doubt that's it, simply because this is supposed to be a theft deterant. What good is putting the code on the radio?

That's true, then I was thinking, how many nerds are going to actually steal them and risk a radio that doesn't work when they can now just steal better decks at stores or something haha

Unlikely.

If you bought used, many of us write it down in the owners manual (but, shhhhh... DON'T tell the thieves).

If not there, check some of the other places suggested (except the back of the radio, of course. As mentioned, THAT would defeat the purpose of HAVING a security code)

ya i can contribute something!

I just did this with my 01 A8. All you need is the VIN and the "AUZ" number on the radio then call Audi of USA. I got mine within 10mins.

To get the "AUZ" number you will need a set of radio keys and slide the radio out. You do not need to disconnect the radio. I got a set for $6 on ebay.
