This has nothing to do with B5s or even Audis. You could have just googled this and found your answer. With $150 you most likely won't find anything that isn't a POS. Check craigslist or somewhere else for a used one and maybe you'll get lucky.

Gonna be tough with only $150. V1 is best at detecting but gets extremely annoying if you live in the city as it goes off at just about every sliding door. Escort Passport 9500i, ix, ci all detect just as well as a V1 on the straights plus they don't go off with as many falses as the V1. Bel sti-r works quite well too.

I personally got a 9500i but am looking to upgrade to the 9500ci.

They are a waste of money imo. There was a huge thread a while back by a member who is a cop discussing how they are pointless except for alerting you of emergency vehicles and motion sensing doors around you. Put that money towards something else and just don't speed too much. Detectors give you a false sense of security. But you gotta spend way more than $150 to get a "good" one. The valentine v2 or v3 or something. 9 times out of 10 you are alerted after you've been tagged.

No one uses radar anymore, we all have lasers now. So you might wanna invest that $150 elsewhere. Radar detectors dont pick up lasers until we have targeted you so it's too late. There is a slight chance of picking up a laser that is reflected off another car, slight chance. There are still a few departments that use them, but they aren't common anymore.
