Quattro vs xDrive

The BMW 328xi feels like a heavy car. I mean I know BMW is all about the ultimate balancing of their cars but it felt like a balanced boat. The A4 Quattro just grips the road like I have never seen. I have driven both in the rain.

Haha, I get that Quattro has a lot of history... but I don't know what makes it any better than BMW. Is BMW all mechanical?
I've driven a 330xi briefly... the car did feel heavy, but that was just working it through a parking lot and some city streets. I never had it up to any kind of speed or pushed it at all. It wasn't my car. It felt great, really... though I never used the awd at all. BMW interiors help sell Audis, I think.

I'd rather like to know why Subaru's symmetrical AWD is so "great" It's just 50/50 distribution all the time big deal thats what almost any 4x4 out there is lol. I'll take my quattro w/ 50/50 normal and 70/30 under load. Sounds more fun to me!

I understand that Subaru uses electronic clutches to send power to specific wheels... while maintaining 50/50 axle distribution?
I've never looked into it... it's just what I remember from commercials... from when I used to watch TV.
