Let's review Audi Forums rule number 2:

If I have to go through 4 pages of posts to find one full sentence i'm going to just delete the thread.

It's quite obvious that people are just posting one word replies to up their post count.

Why don't you just get rid of the post count? Problem solved.

 

Yeah, the post count sort of SHOULD show who knows what they are doing... but eventually it won't.

Some peoples posts per day are scary!

I say don't count off topic... there is no point in them counting anyways.

agreed, OT posts don't usually count in most forums anyway...i say do it....i don't really mind the discussions, the only thing that really gets to me are the posts that say stuff like, "YAY, POST 500!" or "woohoo, i'm 2nd gear!"

 

Yep, there are plenty of stupid posts...

and something that has not been mentioned, is that there is an EDIT function! For the love of god, if you made a typo, or want to correct what you said... don't post a 2nd post right beneath the original... used the damned edit tool!

i definitely agree...i never understood the concept of PW..i mean it's like..yeah u post mindless information just to up your post count...but..who the h*ll cares about your post count..it's like woop dee doo you're in 2nd or 3rd gear...it's not like u get a friggin' medal or anything...

and yeah i understand the more you post the more it "seems" as if you know what you're talking about..but not really...i think if someone knows what they're talking about, it's pretty evident in the few postings that they do have because what they say has relevance to the discussed topic, not in the quantity of posts..

 

Yeah, just make OT not count on the post total. Problem solved. You could even hide (not remove it) the post count and just have the "gears" & "stars". I think that would reduce the amount of useless posts?
