If it are a new Porsche the V.P. of Porsche said to get their automatic if you want performance and their manual if you want to be an enthusiast and be all nostalgic and all that bullshit.

I read that about the Panamerica.. the electronic twin clutch 'auto' was faster than the manual.

Yabbut, it's as UGLY as a Baboons ***! Unless it can brake the speed of sound with its slushbox, I'd never get one. Not with my money, not with your money, not even with lottery money.

I drove a DSG 3.2 TT and it is a damned cool tranny. I'd get one for a daily driver, but certainly not for a P-car or an R8.

Show us an auto that's fun to drive on public roads or around a race track (not a straight line).

:P

We all know enough about cars to understand that the really ridiculous 3000+hp cars run auto... but in terms of how you'd buy a porsche, why even bring up the other 'argument'?
Apples and oranges.

Dint say anything about runnin. Row-yer-own's are more fun to drive. Always have been, always will be. Any automotive enthusiast will tell you that. It's not ALWAYS about absolute performance. But, as far as that goes:

1) Show me a street car/daily- or weekend-driver with 3000hp and I will concede your point.

2) Equal cars, manny vs tip, I will GUARANTEE you I will PWN the other car... Just, let ME pick the road. I have just the one in mind... Mid-eaastern Pa. I forget the name, but I can find the location easy enough.
