get the v-10 and wait for someone to develop a S/C for it... Then go hunting for Lambo's and, well, pretty much anything you want

I almost got the SC for my S4. The things whine so damn loud I didn't do it, though. Well, that and the $10K price tag.

For an extra 15-20 grand, you can upgrade the turbos in the P-car to the range of 750 HP.....

I sure like how the ESP keeps the car from fishtailing under the huge acceleration.

Yeah you really have to drive them both. The 911 is one of the best cars made for sure, plus you can really make it a beast if you wanted to. The R8 just handles you wouldn't believe though, for the price tag you just can't go wrong, and the interior! R8 hands down.

Truthfully, my P-car (in dreamland) is the Carerra 4S.
You get the widebody of the turbo and the AWD, but more reliable and still plenty of power for street use. I've never been a crazy driver... don't want to lose my license, so I think an NA porsche could still make me happy.

That being said, the R8 is now my current "realistic dream car" for down the road.

So at first I thought we were talking about buying an older used Porsche, in which case I would say get the 911T.

But if you're in fact looking for a new car, and an R8 is an option, and you're asking your buds on AudiForums.com... well, we're rather obliged to strongly reccommend the R8, now aren't we? R8 V10 FTW, but I wouldn't shake a stick at the V8, either.
