I would strongly suggest going with the JL sub over the Alpine Sub. I've had Type R's before, and although they sounded okay they didn't last very long. JL's sound better and are more durable. I vote JL for amps, too.

Nice I like the custom box holder.

Are you happy with everything?

I wouldn't say the Alpines dont last long, it's all in how you take care of the equipment. My lil brother has had 2 in his Firebird for about 3yrs with no problems. But Josh the JL is what you want if you are looking for lots of bass.

yeah agreed - the JL W3s were recomended by every shop I went to
as well as everyone that helped me out on the forums
(THanks again to TK, Tony-slowwagon- & Chocodog aka New2me-Chris for the info)
but all the shops were equally confident w/ the Type Rs.

I agree I couldve done w/ a better amp - but for the price out the door - it was a good deal imo.
plus this is my first system so just wanted to get my feet wet...

JOSH -that Jensen DVD unit u showed me at the last gtg???
it got stolen? [&o] [:@]

Very nice Jason!

I had a 10" Alpine Type R sub in my last car running off an 800w rms Infinity amp in my last car and it hit nicely and I had zero problems.

Cheers!
