Default Parking Tickets.. Pay or not Pay?

Ok so I've been living in NJ for the past year because of my job... Being from NY I HATE NJ, but the $$$ is worth it. Over the past 4 months I have become careless about where I park and how long I park there for (stupid permit parking in Jersey City and Hoboken), so I have gotten hit with a $45 ticket for parking without a permit for over 2 hours on almost every one of my days off (I like to rest, is that a crime?) So needless to say I have AT LEAST $500 in accumulated parking tickets. I have been getting careless because Apple is letting me transfer back to NY for even MORE $$ and I get to live in my home state so now I don't know if I should even bother paying those parking tickets... I have a NY license and my car is registered in PA under my parents name (insurance is dirt cheap, even for full coverage). what do you guys think? what will happen if I don't pay for these tickets?

wut will happen is your parents will say WTF is wrong with you and will cancel the registration on you without telling you so next time, you'll get impounded instead of a ticket. you should just pay them. it doesn't matter if you've left the state, they'll still get you. you would need to leave the US if you didn't want to pay 500 bux. i'm still in college so i know 500 is a lot of money but weighing that to possible jail time or a huge fine, i'd gladly pay the 500. if you don't have 500, either talk to the popos or see if you can borrow some.

don't be a douche and just pay them. if you are really bringing in the $$$ then it shouldn't be a big deal.

Basically they will send your folks a letter saying we awre suspending your registration until you pay oh yeah after 30 -45 days of no pay they at least double plus they add there own fines on top of it. believe me i have been through this many times . you also will get a ftp(failure to pay) on your record and with enough of them they will issue a warrant for your arrest. Then the next time you get pulled over they impound your car and take youto jail.

I got a parking ticket in a rental car once. I totally meant to pay it...but that was May 2007 and it's still outstanding.

Wouldn't be surprised if NJ sent a collection agency after you.....that's what texas did to me a couple years back....
