88..sweet. The thing with defender is that the older they are ..the better. Like with Ferraris.
No, 88 means 88 inch wheelbase. It was a 1967. They had the 88 and the 109. They didn't start calling them the Defender till the introduced the 90 and 110 inch wheelbase models in 1983.

Oh yeah parts shouldn't be that hard, it looks like a defender body so you should be able to use those parts.
Defenders had V8 engines, and with that one, there are exactly 0 parts that are interchangeable. Back when my dad had his, parts were hard to find. Now, they are damn near impossible.

Nice jp... an old buddy of mine from the Marines customizes old CJ's and makes some monsters. Not that, that baby isn't already one... but that could really be a mean beast! You're gonna have fun with that thing.

JP, not sure you know how cool that really is. What's great about them is that they are very basic and so repairs are not too terrible. They are some of the best at getting through the **** and will keep/increase in their value once fixed up. My friend and I use his to get out to the duck swamps and it is incredible. Have a blast.

Yeah, there is nothing easier to work on than an old-school Land Rover. The parts go in easy, but they aren't easy on the wallet. Trust me on that one.
